Noel Fitzpatrick, the veterinary surgeon who was brought to the attention of the general public in the BBC 1 documentary "The Bionic Vet", has now launched his own eLearning platform. The platform has been set up to aid in the continuing professional development of veterinarians and veterinary nurses. It includes a managed online programme, vetinars, forums and a wealth of online resources and videos.

Following on from the succesful implementation of the Fitzpatrick Referrals web site, Lightflows were charged with the design of the Fitzpatrick Learning Academy web site. It was asked that particular attention to the user interface (ui) and the user experience (ux) should be made.

User interface and user experience are about stepping into the shoes of the user of the web site and assessing requirements through their eyes. The results of this process help make it as easy as possible for users to find the information they need, as quickly as possible. Elements of this can be seen in items such as the clean layout, succinct menu and large appropriately named buttons. The benefits of ui and ux consderations are not limited to a better user experience though, they also produce an increase in sales and subscriptions.
