As the U.K. eagerly awaits the release of the iPad, we’re hearing reports of some users receiving their pre-orders today. 3G customers will still need to wait until tomorrow to be able to start using their micro sims 🙂
We at Lightflows are an impatient bunch and sourced an iPad from eBay a few weeks ago to test the apps we are developing. Imagine our surprise last week when the iPad app store went live – no more downloading apps through iTunes. Today brings more goodness – a recent check on the App store revealed that the iWork family of apps, Pages, Numbers & Keynote are released – but iBooks is there too! There had been speculation that iBooks wouldn’t be available here until later in the year.
We’ve yet to download and check if iBooks lets us buy any books yet… we’ll report back soon. Happy iPadding everyone!
– Update – Books are available to download in the iBooks app , but only titles that are freely available in the public domain – no commercial titles yet. Winnie the Pooh is the freebie that comes with the App.
